Apantac Announces HDBaseT Partnership with Valens
Apantac, provider of cost-effective multiviewers, video walls, extenders, and signal processing solutions announced today that it has partnered with Valens semiconductor for a number of HDBaseT technology initiatives. Valens will be showcasing an Apantac TAHOMA Multiviewer and HDBaseT extender solutions in an SDI infrastructure application on the HDBaseT Alliance NAB 2014 booth SU11914.
Apantac recently joined the HDBaseT Alliance, an association comprised of leading cross-industry companies formed to promote and standardize HDBaseT technology. HDBaseT enables connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays, delivering uncompressed 4K/3G/HD/SD-SDI video, audio, Ethernet, control signals, and power over a single CAT5e/6 cable.
The HDBaseT Alliance NAB booth will feature a live demonstration of how HDBaseT, Valens technology, and Apantac solutions can deliver 4K video sources over long distances to significantly reduce the costs and complexities of installations. Apantac’s TAHOMA DL Hybrid Multiviewer and HDBaseT Extender/receiver set integrated with Valens technology will be at the heart of the demonstration and used to carry several video sources over an HDBaseT link. The HDBaseT-1-E/R set will be utilized for extending HDMI signals over an HDBT link to an HDBT enabled display. The HDBT monitor will display up to eight different sources that include HDMI and HD-SDI, which are processed via the TAHOMA DL-4+4 Hybrid Multliviewer.
The Apantac HDBT-1-E/R extender and receiver set integrates the Valens chip (VS100), an HDBaseT compliant chipset that transmits and receives uncompressed HD, video, audio, Internet, power and control signals through a single 100m/328ft LAN cable.
“HDBaseT represents a significant benefit to our customers and partners,” comments Thomas Tang, President of Apantac. “We have been providing HDBaseT extension solutions for a number of years now, and this technology has proven itself in the field time and time again. We are experiencing a building momentum and acceptance of the HDBaseT technology, and our customers can now leverage this technology to reduce the complexities and costs of their infrastructure projects.”
